She Crawls!

I am happy to report that our little Abby has decided to finally crawl exactly one week before her first birthday! It has actually been really nice that she hasn't been mobile yet since we have not had to baby-proof anything. Now we have to figure out how to baby-proof the wood burning fireplace and the stairs to the basement. Does anyone have any ideas on how to put a baby gate up and attach it to a railing? Or how to keep a baby from crawling into the fireplace?

Christmas lights follow-up

Back when I posted about Christmas lights I mentioned that we would be taking the lights down on New Years.... That was a lie... they are still up and will be there until spring when the snow melts. Our poor deer family has probably suffocated by now since it has been buried under 5 feet of snow for the past 2 months. We still have angel lady standing in our yard and a knocked over Christmas tree in the grass. I at least took the wreaths off of the garage lights a few days ago but I think our neighbors think we are crazy. Chris won't get up and take the lights down though. Maybe if the snow melts enough one day I will be brave and do it.... or maybe not...

Where has the past year gone?

I can't believe how fast Abby is growing up! She will be 1 in less than a month. Today while I was trying to feed her some strawberry oatmeal, she grabbed the spoon and insisted on doing it herself. She made a huge mess but was so excited to be able to put the spoon into the bowl and feed herself. She still isn't crawling (or walking) but all the girls have been late crawlers/walkers. She is trying though and can sure get around quickly in her walker.
